Mothers become enraged when their young
daughters choose life
Abortionist Kenneth Wright only committed abortions on Tuesday last week. The
ministry day began at 6:30 am on Tuesday, as Terri (the leader of LSM's
pregnancy evangelism team) walked around the abortion chamber and prayed that
God would send 10,000 angels for every demon which was around the killing
center. She also prayed that every person who came for an abortion would hear
God's voice, and that Satan would be bound and gagged so that those who came
for abortions could not go through with it without denying Christ. By about 9:30
am, nine women had come for abortion appointments; four of these women
eventually repented. As the day drew to a close, at least eight babies who were
scheduled to die had been saved. Here are a few selected reports from last week's
ministry activities:
"Rebecca," 13, and her aunt were dropped off
early Tuesday morning at the abortion
chamber. Terri tried to talk to them, but they
went inside. Terri called out to those inside the
waiting room, saying "ladies, if you're here for
an abortion, it's not too late to change your
mind. We have help right across the street.
God has a wonderful plan for you and it
includes your baby. If you have this abortion,
your arms will ache to hold the child you never
got to see." Rebecca's aunt came out on the balcony
and told Terri "you're scaring her." Terri replied, "she
should be scared, considering what they will do to her and
her baby!" At Terri's invitation, Rebecca's aunt came
downstairs so that Terri could give her a teddy bear and a
"Hope for the Future" Bible to bring back up to Rebecca.
Then Terri continued calling up to the waiting room,
describing the abortion procedure in graphic detail. Terri
eventually had to go back to the LifeHouse to help a
woman who needed a pregnancy test, but (unbeknownst to
Terri) Rebecca had already changed her mind. About an
hour later, Rebecca's mother returned to pick her up,
swearing furiously at Terri.
When Terri had been calling out to Rebecca inside the
waiting room, "Claudine," 16, came for an abortion with
her mother. Terri offered them a Bible, but Claudine's
mother said "I have a Bible," and proceeded upstairs.
Claudine seemed hesitant, and Terri noticed her glance at
the large picture of an aborted baby which was below the
balcony, but she still went inside. So Terri intensified her
efforts to call out to the women inside. After less than 10
minutes, they came out. Claudine was crying, while her
mother heartlessly walked on ahead. Terri ran over to their
car, and gave Claudine a "Hope for the Future" Bible,
along with a baby gift and teddy bear. Terri said to her
mother, "this is your grandchild"; but Claudine's mother
snapped back "it's not my grandchild!" "But aren't you
Claudine's mother?" Terri asked. "Yes, but she shouldn't
have spread her legs," Claudine's mother countered. "That's
true, but now there's an innocent baby involved," Terri
said. Noticing an "I love Jesus" ornament on the car, Terri
asked Claudine's mother if she was a Christian, and she
replied "yes." "You're doing the right thing," Terri said, but
Claudine's mother just glared straight ahead, as tears rolled
down Claudine's cheeks. Claudine vowed to call Terri if
she needs any help.
As Terri was dealing with Rebecca and Claudine (what a
hectic--but fruitful--morning!), "Laurel" called LifeSavers
on the phone, emotionally distraught. "I'm scheduled for an
abortion at 9," she explained, "and I know I shouldn't do it,
but I can't manage being a single parent of four children."
Laurel said she is very active in the Charismatic church she
attends, but she is going through a divorce because of her
husband's adultery. He had just dropped off half of the
money for the abortion and picked up the children, without
showing any concern for Laurel's situation. Terri expressed
sympathy to Laurel, saying "I could very well be in your
shoes, but I would hope someone would try to stop me.
God obviously wanted you to call me." Laurel agreed,
remarking "just this week my Pastor was saying that it's
only by God's grace that any of us are even born." Laurel
said that when she called for her abortion appointment, she
asked if any "protesters" would be outside, and she was
told "yes, they know when our surgery days are." After
about 20 minutes of talking, Laurel said she knew it would
be hard, but she would keep the baby. "Thank you for your
ministry. You really helped me, and I'm sure you've helped
others too. I know that what you do is from the Lord."
At 6 am on Tuesday, Terri called 15-year old "Aurora's"
house
(see Weekly Ministry Focus #39), knowing that
Aurora was scheduled for an abortion. Aurora's mom said
that Aurora's appointment was set for 12:30. "So she's still
going through with it?" Terri asked. "Yes," Aurora's mom
answered. "If you really wanted her to keep the baby, you
could stop her," Terri contended, "but you probably feel she
had no business having another baby." Aurora's mom
agreed. Terri asked if she could pray with her, and she said
"yes." Terri prayed that God would give her a love for her
grandchild, and give Aurora a love for her child. Later that
afternoon, Aurora's mom called back, announcing "we're
keeping the baby!" Amber and Terri are still helping them
find a place to live.
On Tuesday afternoon, Terri took 15-year-old
"Judith"
(see
Weekly Ministry Focus #38) to her doctor. Judith's cousin,
"Emanuella," 18, came along. Emanuella was planning to
abort her fourth child, but she happened to be visiting
Judith when Terri called, so Terri offered to let her see the
"Harder Truth" video, which shows what happens in an
abortion. After Judith's visit to the doctor, Terri brought
them to the LifeHouse to see the video. Afterwards,
Emanuella happily announced "I'm keeping the baby."
If you carefully observe all these commands I am
giving you to follow - to love the Lord your God, to
walk in all his ways and to hold fast to him - then the
Lord will drive out all these nations before you, and
you will dispossess nations larger and stronger than
you. Every place where you set your foot will be
yours: Your territory will extend from the desert to
Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the
western sea. No man will be able to stand against you.
The Lord your God, as he promised you, will put the
terror and fear of you on the whole land, wherever
you go.
As you meditate on
this scripture, ask God to help us to walk in this promise,
possessing more and more of the enemy's land with our
feet.
Prayer Focus
Ask God to let His Spirit speak through you and through the
LSM pregnancy evangelists today.
Pray for the mothers of "Rebecca" and
"Claudine" (see reports above), asking God to
help them open their hearts to love and protect
their preborn grandchildren. (Also pray for the
other people mentioned in the ministry
reports.)
Pray for Chuck Thompson, atheist owner of the
Stanley Security company which protects the
abortion chamber. Ask God to bring him to the
point of surrendering to
Him.
LSM welcomes back Monica Savage
We are thrilled to announce that God has answered our prayers by allowing Monica
Savage to return to the board of LifeSavers Ministries. Although she now lives in
Santa Maria, she has decided to drive the four-hour round trip to Bakersfield to
participate in the sidewalk ministry from time to time, resuming her former position as LSM Treasurer.
With four young children, including one-month-old Francesca, Monica already has
her hands full, but we appreciate her willingness to sacrifice for us and for the babies
who are scheduled to die in Bakersfield. May God bless Monica and her family for
her service, as He blesses us through her service.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
