Rescued boy's story saves baby against court order
After a six-week absence, abortionist Kenneth Wright returned to Bakersfield last week to abort tiny children who were planned and created by God. While the dozens of brutal killings Wright committed were hidden behind brick walls and darkened windows, Christians openly proclaimed the Gospel of Life from the public sidewalks outside, and at the LifeHouse pregnancy help center across the street. Here are some stories of lives impacted by this outreach:
Her pregnancy violated a court order, and "Mekelle" felt overwhelmed by the responsibilities of caring for her three year old child. So although she was already visibly pregnant, she decided to abort her 14 week old baby.

As she walked toward the abortion chamber on the sidewalk, Terri* approached Mekelle offering help. When Terri told Mekelle about Jordan Young, a 12 year old boy who was saved from abortion, Mekelle's attitude suddenly changed. "I know him," Mekelle confessed. Suddenly the abstract concept of abortion became very real to Mekelle. Mekelle's heart had been touched many times by listening to Jordan's anointed singing in church.
"Jordan's mom Jackie is always talking about what a blessing he is," Terri said. "If she had aborted him, see how she would have missed out on this joy God wanted her to experience?"
After hearing Jordan's testimony, Mekelle decided not to abort her baby. Instead, Terri arranged for Mekelle to go to the Bakersfield Pregnancy Center for a free ultrasound, where she saw her tiny child for the first time.
As a young couple walked across the balcony toward the abortion chamber entrance, Terri called out from the sidewalk "most women say that if their boyfriend or husband would just take them by the hand and say 'let's keep this baby' they wouldn't have an abortion." The woman looked at the man and smiled.
About five minutes later, the couple walked away from the abortion chamber. As she left, the woman told Terri "thank you."
When "Sashi" called LifeSavers last New Year's Eve, Terri asked, "do you need a pregnancy test?"
"No," Sashi replied, "I know I am pregnant. I do not want to keep it." Sashi wanted to schedule an abortion.
"We offer help to women so that they don't have to have abortions," Terri explained. Terri told Sashi about the risks of abortion and encouraged her to consider God's plan for herself and her baby.
Although Terri encouraged Sashi to come to the LifeHouse for help, Sashi never arrived. However, Terri kept in touch with Sashi by phone throughout her pregnancy.
A few days ago, Sashi called to thank Terri for her help, and to announce the birth of her healthy, 7 pound son. Now focusing on protecting the life of her child, Sashi told Terri that she doesn't want to bring him out until he is about a month old. After that, Sashi plans to visit the LifeHouse to meet Terri and show her the baby she helped to save.

Scripture
Focus:
Psalm 94:1-11
O Lord, the God who avenges,
O God who avenges, shine forth.
Rise up, O Judge of the earth;
pay back to the proud what they deserve.
How long will the wicked, O Lord,
how long will the wicked be jubilant?
They pour out arrogant words;
all the evildoers are full of boasting.
They crush your people, O Lord;
they oppress your inheritance.
They slay the widow and the alien;
they murder the fatherless.
They say, "The Lord does not see;
the God of Jacob pays no heed."
Take heed, you senseless ones among the people;
you fools, when will you become wise?
Does he who implanted the ear not hear?
Does he who formed the eye not see?
Does he who disciplines nations not punish?
Does he who teaches man lack knowledge?
The Lord knows the thoughts of man;
he knows that they are futile.
Ask God to shine His light of vengeance today, exposing the futile arrogance of the abortionist and staff at Bakersfield's FPA abortion chamber.

Focus
-
Jesus, be glorified in our lives today as we offer ourselves to You as your hands and feet outside this place of death and darkness.
-
Guard the lips of everyone who ministers to women considering abortion today, so that they will not say anything which is not from your Spirit.
-
Please fill the hearts of the court officers with mercy for "Mekelle" and her baby.
Outreach for life at Festival of Roses
People who come to Wasco's Festival of Roses on September 11 and 12 will have the opportunity to receive pro-life information and encouragement from the Elizabeth League group at St. John the Evangelist church. A booth will be provided by the group throughout the event.
The Elizabeth League group was established to provide help and support to pregnant women who decided not to abort their children after encountering LifeSavers Ministries representatives. "The St. John Elizabeth League group has expanded their ministries beyond our expectations," observed Tim Palmquist, co-chairman of LifeSavers Ministries.
If you are interested in helping with the Festival of Roses booth or learning more about the Elizabeth League, contact Tim or Terri Palmquist at 323-BABY.
