As women enter the abortion chamber, they are approached by "sidewalk counselors" who seek to offer good news to both the babies and their mothers. These counselors show their love to these women by offering help and alternatives to abortion, and speaking God's Truth. At times, the scriptural mandate to "speak the truth in love" leads a counselor to warn someone about the reality of God's judgment for unrepentant sinners. Counselors must be willing to suffer from the hostile attacks of some of the very people they are trying to help, while always remaining peaceful in word and deed.

No two people will counsel the same way. The essential ingredients are: love for the mothers, some knowledge of the facts, resource materials, and tenacity. Some counselors use an emotional approach, while others take a scientific or a religious position. Of primary importance is the counselor's sincere desire to help the mother recognize that she needs to submit to God and His standards in order to experience the abundant life He offers.
