Babies saved as tempers flare during heat wave
Besieged by a record-breaking heat wave, Christians
refused to abandon their outreach to women entering
Bakersfield’s “Family Planning Associates” abortion
chamber this week,
even though temperatures on the hot sidewalks reportedly
reached 112 degrees or more.
As Glendale abortionist Robert Smith arrived at the killing center, a Christian radio station could be heard playing loudly from his car. Yet he continued without hesitation to fulfill his duties to execute children, injuring women in the process.
Like the past several weeks, in the scorching heat some
people became intensely angry. But at least two (and possibly six or more) babies were saved. As you read these reports of children saved, thank God with us for giving His servants the endurance to stay on the streets so that these children could be saved:
While an officer tried to persuade Terri* to
remove a baby swing from the grassy area near
the sidewalk outside the abortion chamber, Terri noticed a woman
approaching the stairs to the abortion chamber, with a
man following her a few steps behind. “We’d like to
help you to choose life,” Terri said to the couple. “God has a plan for your baby--if you
don’t want the baby, we do.”
When the man responded to Terri with an
obscene gesture, Terri told the woman “if you don’t
have a man that will support you, we’ll do our best to
help you,” while she told the man “God has called you to protect and provide for her, so please do the right thing.”
Three minutes later the woman hurried down the
stairs, followed by the man. “We care about you
young lady... please call us if we can help you in any
way,” Terri said to her. “God bless you; I’m glad you’re leaving.”
The couple got into a cement truck which was
parked on the street. Then the man came out of the
truck, angrily stomping toward Terri. Finally, he
threw a book at Terri. The incident was ignored by
the officer, who stood nearby taking photographs of
the baby swing.
Terri picked up the book he had thrown,
discovering that it was a Bible. Terri asked “is this your Bible, sir?” He responded with shouting and cursing, and then back got into the cement truck and drove away.
Someone had written on the inside cover of the
Bible “Presented to [the man’s name]. Here in these
pages the Author has given an answer to all questions.
If the question is important, you can find an answer.
Get to know the Author personally.”
Terri offered literature to a woman
approaching the abortion chamber with an
older man. “I don’t need that,” the woman
snapped back.
“If you’re coming here you do,” Terri replied.
“I can understand if you’re not a Christian why
you would be coming here. But if you love God
it doesn’t make any sense that you would be
coming here. Jesus came that you might have life and have it more abundantly. Satan came to steal, kill and destroy.”
The door closed behind the couple, but in less
than a minute they came back out. The woman
told Terri that she changed her mind, and
accepted literature from Terri before leaving the
killing center.
“Diane” intended to call the abortion chamber,
but called LifeSavers Ministries by accident.
She told Terri she wants an abortion because
she is only 19 and is struggling just to care for her
four-year-old.
Diane confessed that although she is a Christian,
when she first became pregnant four years ago, she
also intended to abort the child. But on the day of her
abortion appointment, she became scared when she
saw so many people on the sidewalks outside the
abortion chamber.
Terri later contacted one of Diane’s family
members, who intends to try to help connect Diane
with the Elizabeth League group which already exists
in her church.

Proverbs 14: 1-12
The wise woman builds her house,
But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.
He who walks in his uprightness fears the LORD,
But he who is perverse in his ways despises Him.
In the mouth of a fool is a rod of pride,
But the lips of the wise will preserve them.
Where no oxen are, the trough is clean;
But much increase comes by the strength of an ox.
A faithful witness does not lie,
But a false witness will utter lies.
A scoffer seeks wisdom and does not find it,
But knowledge is easy to him who understands.
Go from the presence of a foolish man,
When you do not perceive in him the lips of knowledge.
The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way,
But the folly of fools is deceit.
Fools mock at sin,
But among the upright there is favor.
The heart knows its own bitterness,
And a stranger does not share its joy.
The house of the wicked will be overthrown,
But the tent of the upright will flourish.
There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death.
Intercede for those who are being deceived by the devil
into destroying their own households, praying that God
will help them to stop following the road to death and turn to Life in
Christ.

Joseph Palmquist, 11, draws on the sidewalk--a criminal act?

Officer upset by baby swing, chalk art
As innocent children were torn apart inside
Bakersfield’s abortion chamber Tuesday morning, officer
Terry Buss arrived, responding to a report of a law
being violated.
Buss asserted that a baby swing set in a public
grassy area must be removed, and that chalk drawings
were illegal graffiti. Terri Palmquist explained that
she had contacted the Bakersfield Police Department
several weeks ago to verify the legality of drawing
with chalk on public sidewalks, and she was assured
that if the messages were not obscene or offensive there should be no problem.
Joseph Palmquist’s chalk art featured pictures
of children and fun activities, with messages
such as “Children are a gift from God,” “Every baby
wants a birthday,” and “Choose life.”

Officer Terry Buss takes a picture of an "illegal" baby swing outside Bakersfield's abortion chamber,
as a couple leaves the abortion chamber without aborting (the cement truck the couple came in can be seen in the distance).
|
“They just don’t like anything that makes people stop and think about changing their mind, so they call for every little thing,” Terri Palmquist told the officer.
“I see your point,” Buss responded, “but unfortunately, until they change some of the laws” such activities are illegal. Buss refused to name any specific laws or ordinances which
were being violated, but said he would return to issue
a citation after showing the City Attorney photos of
the swing and art. He never returned.
