Yemeni baby saved after parents view video
at the LifeHouse
Abortionist Kenneth Wright returned to Bakersfield
last Monday and Tuesday to slaughter babies, but at least
six babies who were scheduled to die are still alive! Here
are a few selected reports from last week's ministry
activities:
A Yemeni couple, "Ahmed," 28, and "Sabah," 26,
planned to abort their fifth child on Tuesday, but
Chuck and Terri talked to them as they were entering
the abortion chamber. Ahmed said that a doctor had
told them that the baby was deformed, and that they
should abort the baby because of Sabah's health
problems. "With the Lord's help, we convinced them
to come to the LifeHouse to watch the 'Harder Truth'
video," Terri said. Terri also told them that she
would pay for them to go to another doctor for a
second opinion, and asked Ione to call a local pro-life
doctor to make arrangements. However, after
watching the video, Ahmed said Sabah changed her
mind; she said "I want to go home." He said they
would get a second opinion on their own. He asked to
use the phone, and called the abortion chamber to
cancel his appointment. Terri gave them a "Hope for
the Future" Bible and a baby
gift.
"Sophia," 18, came to the abortion chamber on
Monday, attempting for the third time to abort her
baby. As she approached the stairway, Chuck asked
"you don't really want an abortion, do you?" Chuck
prayed with her, with Carlotta and Irene agreeing in
prayer. "Tears were streaming down her face,"
Carlotta later recalled. Carlotta brought her to the
LifeHouse, where she talked to Sophia about her
situation. Carlotta let her hold one of the "Touch of
Life" preborn baby models. "That really touched her
heart," Carlotta said. Sophia explained that she is a
Christian, and she was planning to get married, but
her boyfriend is going into the Air Force. Carlotta
made some phone calls to find out what regulations
the Air Force has regarding spouses. As Sophia left,
Terri gave her a "Hope for the Future" Bible
and baby gifts.
"Audry," 18, came to the abortion chamber Tuesday
in a car which had a "WWJD" ("What Would Jesus
Do?") bumper sticker. Terri approached with a smile,
offering a pamphlet, but Audry said "I need to have
this abortion because my gall bladder is about to
rupture." Terri said "we'll help you find a doctor," but
Audry snapped back "don't you know this is hard
enough for me?!" Terri said "are you a Christian?"
and Audry replied "yes." Terri said "then what would
Jesus do? You need to trust God, you don't need to go
to this place that kills about 75 babies a week. Plus,
there is no reason your baby needs to be torn apart to
save your life!" Nevertheless, Audry went into the
abortion chamber, as the young man who
accompanied her swore angrily at Terri, saying that
he was a Satanist. About three hours later, Audry
came out, visibly upset. Chuck went to talk to her,
and she told him that she is pregnant with twins, so
she will not have an abortion. Chuck gave her a baby
gift and two teddy bears. As they drove away, Terri
ran out to give them a "Hope for the Future" Bible
and a second baby gift. The young "Satanist" man at
first resisted, but at Audry's urging, he rolled down
the window to take the Bible and the gift.
A local doctor apparently scheduled an abortion for
one of his patients, while telling her that she wasn't
pregnant. "Monique," 39, asked her friend "Empara"
to bring her to the abortion chamber on Monday. As
Empara drove up, she asked Chuck "do they do
abortions here?" and Chuck replied "that's about all
they do." Empara explained that she is a Christian
and she did not want to be responsible for bringing
her friend for an abortion. Chuck suggested that they
should go to the LifeHouse. At the LifeHouse, they
showed Terri a referral form from Dr. Joo "Jay" Kim,
which stated that Monique was not pregnant, but that
she had an appointment with the Family Planning
Associates abortion chamber for "11 am." Monique
only speaks Spanish, so Terri asked her to complete
one of the new Spanish-language pregnancy test
forms, and gave her a pregnancy test, which was
positive. Terri showed them the "Harder Truth"
video, and gave Monique a baby gift, a Spanish "Hope
for the Future" Bible, and the phone numbers of local
Spanish-speaking pro-lifers. Empara said she will do
her best to make sure Monique doesn't come back for
an abortion. As of Sunday night, Monique was still
not sure what she is going to do.
On Tuesday afternoon, a woman came out of the
abortion chamber and laid back in the passenger seat
of a car with a white towel wrapped around her head.
Chuck began witnessing to her, offering post-abortion
help to her. Terri suggested that if she is having
problems, she should go to the hospital instead of
coming back to the abortion chamber, but the woman
said "I didn't have the abortion!" She said she was
too sick. Terri told her to please call if she needs
anything. The woman thanked them, then her male
companion started the car and they drove away.
Scripture
Focus
: Proverbs 18:1-10
An unfriendly man pursues selfish ends;
   he defies all sound judgment.
A fool finds no pleasure in understanding
but delights in airing his own opinions.
When wickedness comes, so does contempt,
   and with shame comes
disgrace.
The words of a man's mouth
are deep waters,
   but the fountain of
wisdom is a bubbling brook.
It is not good to be partial to
the wicked
or to deprive the innocent of justice.
A fool's lips bring him strife,
and his mouth invites a beating.
A fool's mouth is his undoing,
and his lips are a snare to his soul.
The words of a gossip are like choice morsels;
they go down to a man's inmost parts.
One who is slack in his work
is brother to one who destroys.
The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
the righteous run to it and are safe.
As you meditate on
this scripture today, ask God to help you to be diligent in
all of your work for Him.
Prayer
Focus
Pray for wisdom for every volunteer who will be speaking
to those entering the abortion chamber
today.
Ask God to give "Monique" the desire to protect her
baby (see report above). (And also pray for the
other people mentioned in the ministry
reports.)
Ask God to expose the lies of Dr. Joo "Jay" Kim (see
report above) and other doctors who try to trick
women into aborting their babies.
Ask God to guide the LSM leadership in tonight's
meeting, and pray that every decision which is made will be
motivated by God's glory, not
man's.
LSM receives gifts from baby
the day before his birth
Mark Brent LaRochelle was born to Jack and Diane
LaRochelle last Tuesday, September 12 at 4:52 am, after
Diane went through 16 difficult hours of labor. He weighed
9 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 21 1/2 inches long. Mother and
baby are happy and healthy.
On Monday (the day before Mark's birth), Diane had
brought a large basket full of baby gifts to the LifeHouse. A
shower had been held the week before for baby Mark, but
Diane asked that all of the presents would go to LifeSavers
to be given to women who choose life.
Thank you, Mark (and Diane and Jack)! May God use
your precious life to His glory!
Monica Savage gives birth to fourth child
Francesca Anne Savage was born on September 8 to
Mark and Monica Savage. Francesca weighed 7 pounds, 6
ounces, and was 20 inches long. (Monica was formerly
LSM's treasurer. The Savages now live in Santa Maria.)
In Memory of Chris Martin
Chris Martin, son of Tom and Kathy Martin of
Washington, recently suffered a tragic death. Bruce and
Valerie Walker gave a donation to LifeSavers in memory
of Chris. The Martins have been active pro-lifers for
years. Please pray that they will experience God's comfort
during this time of mourning.
