"Street preacher" repents at LifeHouse after bringing niece for
abortion

     Abortionist Kenneth Wright only committed
abortions last Tuesday at the Family Planning
Associates abortion chamber in Bakersfield. Here are
a few selected reports from last week's ministry
activities:
"Josette," 23, came to the abortion chamber
on Tuesday morning to abort her two-month
old unborn baby. Her aunt, "Leora," came
with her. As they entered, Terri asked
"would you like to see how they do an
abortion?" Terri brought Josette and Leora
to the LifeHouse and showed them the
     "Harder Truth" video. Afterwards, Leora
was sobbing, grieving over the children she
had aborted. "How can God ever forgive
me?" she cried. But Josette responded with a
sober commitment to keep her baby. Terri
     gave Leora post-abortion literature, along
with a "baby angel" figurine which had been a
centerpiece for the LifeSavers "What Was I
Supposed to Be?" banquet. Terri also talked
to Leora about the meaning of true
repentance. Leora then explained that she is a
street preacher, and she wants to tell
everyone the truth about abortion; she went
into the LifeHouse literature room, gathering
up all of the different kinds of literature she
could find, so that she could share them with
the people she meets on the street. Terri gave
Josette a "Hope for the Future" Bible and a
     baby gift.
"Minnie," 19, came to the LifeHouse with a
friend on Monday for a pregnancy test.
Minnie is single, and has attended a local
Catholic church for several years. Her test
was negative, so Terri talked and prayed with
them about abstinence, encouraging them to
     save themselves for
     marriage.
On Tuesday, Terri talked to a young man who had a
long pony tail and wore a "Black Sabbath" t-shirt. At
first he ridiculed Terri, but after a few minutes he was
cordial. He explained that he had brought his sister
for an abortion. Although he once believed in God,
he said that now he's not sure. Later, Chuck talked
with him for quite a while and gave him literature.
Several hours later, his sister came out from upstairs,
without having her baby aborted. As she left, she
held her stomach and said "thank God for choices!"

"Chloe," 23 called Tuesday afternoon, asking if she
could come to the LifeHouse for a pregnancy test
later. She requested a time when the LifeHouse
would normally have been closed, but Terri
encouraged her to come down anyway. At the
LifeHouse, Terri showed her the "Harder Truth"
video as she waited for the results of her test, while
Tim watched her three-year-old daughter. However,
Chloe apparently sat through the video without
watching. It had been just seven months since she
had aborted a baby. Terri gave her post abortion
literature and information about the risks of abortion,
along with a "Hope for the Future" Bible. Chloe said
she believes in God, but doesn't go to church. She
gave Terri a hug as she left, presumably still
contemplating abortion. Terri offered her a baby gift,
     but she politely refused.

A young man (21) called from the outside phone at
the LifeHouse on Wednesday; he told Terri "my
girlfriend was raped and she's pregnant, and she
doesn't want the baby." "He seemed genuinely upset,
and he didn't want to have to be in this situation,"
Terri later explained. Terri asked if it was possible
that he could be the father, and he replied "yes."
Terri suggested that they could wait until after the
baby is born, and then do a paternity test to find out
whether or not the baby is his. "If the baby isn't
yours, there's always adoption, and you could always
give your baby to me," Terri said. He asked for
Terri's name, and then thanked her for her help.

Scripture
Focus
Ecclesiastes 11:1-6

Cast your bread upon the waters,
for after many days you will find it again.
Give portions to seven, yes to eight,
for you do not know what disaster
          may come upon the land.

If clouds are full of water,
they pour rain upon the earth.
Whether a tree falls to the south or to the north,
in the place where it falls, there will it lie.
Whoever watches the wind will not plant;
whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.

As you do not know the path of the wind,
or how the body is formed in a mother's womb,
so you cannot understand the work of God,
       the Maker of all things.

Sow your seed in the morning,
and at evening let not your hands be idle,
for you do not know which will succeed,
       whether this or that,
or whether both will do equally well.
 Meditate on this
scripture today, and ask God to help you not to let your
hands be idle, but to continue to sow good seed at all
times.
Prayer Focus
Ask God to use every sidewalk counselor and
every other volunteer to His glory today, and
pray that God will give them strength to
continue in the face of hostile
opposition.
Pray that "Chloe" (see report above)
will have a desire to keep her baby. Ask God to
help her to see in the eyes of her little girl the joy
that this new child can bring to her life. (And
also pray for the other people mentioned in the
ministry reports.)
Pray that pastors in our community will
recognize their need to be a part of this ministry
to the community and to their own
members.
Pray that the money which is received by the
abortionist and his staff today will not increase
their wealth, but that God will operate against
the finances of each person who seeks to benefit
from the killing, so that they will be brought to
repentance.

Researcher
recommends anaesthetizing
unborn children being
aborted

A pro-abortion professor from Great Britain has advised
that all unborn children aborted after the 17th week of
pregnancy should be anaesthetized during the abortion. She
will be chairing a conference on the issue in November.
John Smeaton, national director of the Society for the
Protection of Unborn Children in London, said that the
professor's suggestions missed the point. Smeaton observed
that the concern expressed by doctors and the public
regarding fetal pain actually reflects "our sense of guilt at
killing a fellow human being." SPUC also pointed out that
the anatomical structures necessary for the appreciation of
pain are present in the unborn child before 10 weeks'
development.
Following this report, a Canadian professor who has
spent more than 15 years studying the experience of pain in
babies stated "my experience is they do experience pain. I
say we should give the babies the benefit of the doubt."
