Young woman returns to the LifeHouse with her "LifeHouse baby"
Here are a few selected reports from last week's
ministry activities:
"Sibley," 21, returned to the LifeHouse on
Tuesday, bringing her son, who is almost two
years old. She had been one of the first clients to
come to the LifeHouse when it first opened, and
her son is possibly the oldest "LifeHouse" baby.
"Thanks a lot if you guys weren't here to talk to
I would probably be someone else as of now,"
Sibley wrote on her pregnancy test form. She
has attended a local church with an inner-city
ministry for several years. She had an abortion a
few months ago, but now she wants to be
pregnant. Sibley said that she feels like she
cannot get pregnant because she was physically
damaged by the abortion. Her pregnancy test
was negative. She happened to come to the
LifeHouse while "Amos" (see Weekly Ministry
Focus #24) was talking to Tim. Amos is 20, and
his pregnant girlfriend is 14, and he has been
threatened with statutory rape charges, but Sibley
encouraged him by saying that she had her first
baby at 14, and that her boyfriend was 21 when
she first became pregnant, and she is still with
him. She told him that if he takes responsibility for
the baby, statutory rape charges are less likely to
be severe.
As "Venus," 20, was going up the stairs to the
abortion chamber on Monday, Debbie offered her
a teddy bear and a Bible, and invited her to come
to the LifeHouse to see the "Harder Truth"
video. Venus accepted Debbie's gifts, and
brought along her 10-month old daughter and her
friend (who was trying to talk her out of the
abortion). However, after seeing the video,
Venus still felt that she needed an abortion (her
doctor had told her that giving birth again was a
"no no", because her baby was delivered by
cesarean section). She returned to the abortion
chamber, where she was told that she is 18
weeks pregnant, and that abortion would be
dangerous because of her recent cesarean. As
they left, Venus's friend said "you guys saved a
life." However, they returned on Tuesday, and
Venus' friend said that Venus had scheduled an
abortion in Los Angeles. She said that she will
wait until the last minute to tell Venus that she
can't take her to Los Angeles, hoping that the
baby can still be saved.
"Devona," 19, came to the LifeHouse with her
boyfriend on Wednesday for a pregnancy test, after
seeing a phone book ad for LifeSavers. She told Terri
that she has been a "Christian since birth," and has
never been pregnant before. At first, she said that she
was not sure what she will do if she is pregnant. But
while they waited for the test results, Terri showed
them the "Harder Truth" video. Devona and her
boyfriend were shocked by the video. Afterwards,
Terri brought them back to see the test results, which
were positive. Devona and her boyfriend said that
after seeing the video, they would never choose
abortion.
"Daryl," 22, came to the LifeHouse on Wednesday for
a pregnancy test, which was positive. She told Terri
that she is a Christian, but does not attend church
services. After Terri showed her the "Harder Truth"
video, Daryl was crying, but she said "no way will I
have an abortion after seeing that film." Terri gave her
a Bible and a baby gift.
"Ava," 24, came to the LifeHouse on Monday for a
pregnancy test with two of her classmates from a
business college. She told Terri that she is engaged,
and she attends a large local Catholic church. Terri
showed them the "Harder Truth" video, but they came
out after a few minutes, saying that it was too hard to
watch. Ava's test was positive, so Terri gave her a
"Hope for the Future" Bible and a baby outfit.
"Daisy," 17, came to the LifeHouse on Monday for a
pregnancy test. She told Terri that she is engaged,
and she has been attending a Mormon (LDS) church
for most of her life. She has already given birth to one
baby, less than a year ago. When asked what she
would do if she finds out that she is pregnant again,
Daisy replied "I'll love to keep my baby because they
are lovable and fun to have." However, her test
results were negative, so Terri encouraged Daisy to
remain abstinent until she is married, and gave her
some abstinence literature and a Bible.
"Janella," 17, came to the LifeHouse on Tuesday for a
pregnancy test with her mother. They have attended a
local Church of God for several years. Janella said that
she is single, and has never been pregnant before, but
that she will give birth to her baby if she is pregnant.
Janella's mother told Terri that she has breast cancer,
so Terri said that we would pray for her. Terri showed
them the "Harder Truth" video, and afterwards they
saw that her pregnancy test results were negative.
Terri talked to them about abstinence, and gave them
abstinence literature and a Bible.

Scripture Focus: Psalm 86:1-7
Incline thy ear, O Lord, and answer me,
for I am poor and needy.
Preserve my life, for I am godly;
save thy servant who trusts in thee.
Thou art my God; be gracious to me, O Lord,
for to thee do I cry all the day.
Gladden the soul of thy servant,
for to thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
For thou, O Lord, art good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call on
thee.
Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer;
hearken to my cry of supplication.
In the day of my trouble I call on thee,
for thou dost answer me.
[Intercede for the children who are scheduled to
die today, praying on their behalf by using the
words of this scriptural prayer.]

Prayer Focus
Pray that every volunteer will be filled with the
Holy Spirit and that every word, every action, and
every sign which is displayed will be effective in
convicting the hearts of women who are entering
the abortion chamber today.
Ask God to give "Venus" (see report above) a
desire to protect the child inside her, and pray
that Venus' friend will have the courage to keep
doing whatever she can to try to save the baby.
Pray that God will help "Janella" (see report
on other side) to remain abstinent, and pray
that God will comfort and heal Janella's mother
from breast cancer.
Pray that the new abortion chamber
employees will turn away from participating in
these killings before their hearts become
hardened.
