Woman declines abortion, gives birth to twin baby boys
Last week was very discouraging and
frustrating for
local sidewalk counselors, although at least two babies
were saved. Here are a few selected reports from last
week's ministry activities:
"Theodosia," 18, came to the LifeHouse for a
pregnancy test on Tuesday. The
results were
negative. Theodosia attends a
local Missionary
Baptist church. She told Terri
that she had
scheduled an abortion with her last
pregnancy, but
changed her mind after talking to
the sidewalk
counselors, and hearing a woman
inside the abortion
chamber brag about having her sixth
abortion.
Debbie had brought her to the
LifeHouse and shown
her the Hard Truth video, and she
decided not to
abort her baby actually babies: her
twin boys who
were saved from the abortionist's
knife are now
three months old!
"Martha," 20, had come to the FPA abortion
chamber for an abortion, but they
told her that she
was 21 1/2 weeks pregnant, so she
would have to go
to Los Angeles, where she would have
a three-day
abortion (probably a partial-birth
abortion). She
called LifeSavers on Wednesday,
asking for
information on adoption. Terri
is scheduled to meet
with her Monday afternoon to discuss
her situation
further.
"Talia," 18, came to the LifeHouse Monday for a
pregnancy test after seeing a phone
book ad. She
said that she is "born
again," and she attends a large
local Southern Baptist church.
Her test was
positive, and Talia told Mary Ann
that she will give
birth to the baby.
As
"Velma" walked up the stairway to abortion
chamber Tuesday, she was
crying. Terri begged her
not to go in, saying "please,
you have a soft heart,
don't let them kill your baby around
Easter; you'll
always remember this."
She turned around, walked
down the stairs, and went to her
truck and drove
away. As they drove by, Terri
motioned for her to
roll down the window, and Terri gave
her a Hope
For the Future Bible, along with
other literature, and
a baby gift.
Update: Paula (see Weekly Ministry Focus #16)
aborted her baby on Tuesday, even
though Terri had
talked at length and prayed with her
on the phone
earlier in the day. After the
abortion, she was very
pale. Terri asked Paula to
come give her a hug, but
she wouldn't look at Terri, and
didn't say a word.
Her mom said "she doesn't need
to talk to you right
now!"

Scripture Focus: 1 John 3:7-15
Dear children, do not let anyone
lead you astray. He
who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.
He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the
devil has been sinning from the beginning. The
reason
the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work.
No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because
God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning,
because he has been born of God. This is how we know
who the children of God are and who the children of the
devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a
child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.
This is the message you heard from
the beginning:
We should love one another. Do not be like Cain, who
belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And
why did he murder him? Because his own actions were
evil and his brother's were righteous. Do not be
surprised,
my brothers, if the world hates you. We know that we
have passed from death to life, because we love our
brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.
Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you
know that no murderer has eternal life in him.
[heart] When you are tempted to engage in idle
conversation today, meditate on this scripture.

Prayer Focus
Ask God to fill every sidewalk counselor (and
every other volunteer) with His love today, so
that every word and action will display love for
both the mothers and the babies.
Pray that those who enter the abortion
chamber and those who pass by will see our
actions today as demonstrating our love and
concern for the babies and their mothers, even
though we are not using any signs.
Pray for "Velma", asking God to comfort her
and give her peace in whatever situations she is
dealing with right now.

Abortion chamber may close due to lack of local backup
Saloman N. Epstein has
temporarily closed his
abortion chamber in Binghamton, New York, because of an
order from the state Department of Health. Epstein
lives in
New York City, but he travels to Binghamton two days a
week to commit abortions. The Health Department has
ordered him to have a doctor available in Binghamton every
day. "If I don't have adequate back-up for
emergency care,
they will close (the abortion chamber) down," he said,
noting
that he has operated the abortion chamber without medical
backup for 19 years. "If I don't find a doctor to
back me up,
I'll have to leave Binghamton," he said.
(Here in Bakersfield, FPA has
contracted with Dr.
William Stanley for medical backup. Dr. Stanley is
notorious
for abusing his patients, including Helen Herron, who died
following an abortion.)

Abortionist sentenced to probation
for carving initials in woman's belly
New York abortionist Allan Zarkin
was sentenced to
probation last week for carving his initials into the
belly of a woman after delivering her child. Zarkin
will also
be barred from applying for a medical license for five years.
Health
Department officials also temporarily closed the
Choices Women's Medical Center, where Zarkin was hired as
medical director after the carving incident became
public. In
February, the state fined the abortion chamber $20,000 for
committing hasty abortions, lacking proper equipment and
infection control, not having enough nurses and improperly
screening and monitoring employees.
The state also cited the abortion
chamber for allowing
Zarkin to commit abortions unsupervised even though a
psychiatrist had told them that Zarkin has a brain disorder.
