Wisconsin missionary reports babies saved
Last Monday, no abortions were committed
at the Bakersfield abortion chamber. Tuesday was
also somewhat slow. Some babies were saved, but
details provided by the volunteers were only
sketchy. So, instead of focusing on Bakersfield
this week, we present a report from Mark Gabriel,
a pro-life missionary in Wisconsin:
"Two weeks ago at the Appleton
North
Planned Parenthood Abortuary, we had a confirmed
save! A man, his wife and three young children
stopped in the road just beside the driveway.
Though he didn't say much, I could tell he was
taken aback by the large photo of an aborted
baby. Since they were from a culture that
normally has many children, I told him not to be
misled by the American culture that values things
over children. I told him that they were blessed
by God to have four children and that God didn't
want them to kill the fourth there. I gave them
literature, some baby booties, a baby model at 12
weeks, and recommended that they just go home.
To my joy he sort of nodded and drove away!
Please pray for this family to come to Christ.
Last Wednesday a Catholic couple
that
comes out to pray once a week, saw a married
couple they are related to, go inside the mill.
Since they drove by the first time, I surmised
they probably had not been there before and thus
were there for counseling. The pro-life couple
was quite upset, but we prayed together and came
to the conclusion that they should go visit them
that night. Armed with prayer, a pro-life video
and literature, they had a positive conversation
with the father (his wife wasn't home). I
alerted the woman's Pastor (her husband is not a
member of the Church) and he promised me he would
talk to them. The next day they were not seen at
all, and for this I praise the LORD! Please keep
John and Carol in your prayers. Besides the
child in her womb, they have two girls, ages
around 8 and 6. Pray for the salvation of this
family. Pray that God would give the parents a
deep love for their children."

Update:
"Myra" (see Weekly Ministry
Focus #7 and
#5) apparently aborted her baby, in spite of the
many efforts being made by Terri and Rosa to help
her.
Scripture Focus: Jeremiah 22:13-17
"Woe to him who builds his palace by unrighteousness,
his upper rooms by injustice,
making his countrymen work for nothing,
not paying them for their labor.
He says, 'I will build myself a great palace
with spacious upper rooms.'
So he makes large windows in it,
panels it with cedar
and decorates it in red.
"Does it make you a king
to have more and more cedar?
Did not your father have food and drink?
He did what was right and just,
so all went well with him.
He defended the cause of the poor and needy,
and so all went well.
Is that not what it means to know me?"
declares the Lord.
"But your eyes and your heart
are set only on dishonest gain,
on shedding innocent blood
and on oppression and extortion."
Pray that those who gain financially from the
shedding of innocent blood will come to truly
"know" the Lord, or that they will soon receive
just punishment from God. Ask God to help you to
defend the unborn with all your heart, and to
help you refrain from idle conversation.
Prayer Focus
Ask God to bless and protect Wisconsin
missionary Mark Gabriel (see report above).
Pray for abortionist Michael Weiner, who
has
not been seen in Bakersfield for several months,
and who had temporarily stopped being involved in
abortions a few years ago after several
conversations with sidewalk counselors.
Pray for more volunteers, and that
existing
volunteers will take their responsibilities more
seriously.
Hearings expose profiteering from baby body parts
The House Commerce Health and
Environment
Subcommittee held hearings last Thursday which
focused on marketing the body parts of aborted
babies. The committee subpoenaed Dr. Miles Jones
and Medical Technician Lawrence Alberty to
testify about their personal involvement in
businesses which procure aborted babies from
abortion chambers.
Jones and Alberty both appeared
Wednesday
night on ABC News' "20/20" broadcast (Jones was
recorded by a hidden camera, explaining how he
can make thousands of dollars of profit a week by
selling the body parts). Because Jones did not
appear before the subcommittee, the committee
voted 27-0 to hold him in contempt of Congress.
Jones may be subject to arrest this week, if the
full House agrees.
Alberty testified that abortionists
chose
to use abortion methods which attempted to keep
the unborn child's body intact after the
abortion, even though those procedures took more
time, increasing the risk of damage to the
mother's health. Alberty quit his job after
seeing twin babies "covered with blood, moving
and breathing." As a result, he had nightmares
about nuclear apocalypse and the end of the world.
Some aspects of Alberty's testimony
contradicted statements he previously made on a
video produced by Life Dynamics, Inc., but
Alberty insisted that his testimony was true.
"Anything I said on the video when I was not
under oath, that is a different story," Alberty
said. Lawmakers attacked Alberty and Life
Dynamics' credibility because of Alberty's
admitted lies. However, whether or not Alberty
has been entirely truthful, the key elements of
his testimony regarding are clearly true, as
evidenced by ABC's hidden camera interview with
Jones (which was arranged by Alberty), along with
price lists and other substantiating evidence.
The price lists included a charge of $999 for a
brain, $125 for a kidney, and $150 for a spinal
column.
Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI) said, "There
is no
excuse for this type of gross violation of the
law and sickening disrespect for human life....
If these allegations are true, I have not ever
witnessed a clearer case of money as the root of
incredible evil." Upton was the author of the
1993 bill which outlawed selling fetal tissue for
profit.
Upton asked the Justice Department to
investigate the situation prior to the hearing.
Deputy Attorney General Robert Raben said "it
appears that the Justice Department has not
received any information meeting our standards
for triggering a formal investigation that fetal
tissue has been sold for profit. We are still
reviewing our records for information."
On Friday, the Federal Bureau of
Investigation in Kansas City launched a probe
into the marketing of body parts from aborted
babies. "We are investigating possible criminal
violations in the marketing of fetal tissue to
determine if there is a violation of federal
criminal law," FBI spokesman Jeff Lanza told
Reuters.
Rep. Charles Norwood, R-Ga., commented
that society has been pushed into a "gray,
shadowy land" where some people are killed to
cure others. "What we're talking about here is
selling another person's body parts.... My heart
is heavy because these are defenseless babies."
Pro-Life Action League Director Joe
Scheidler said "the 20-20 producers missed the
point. They act as if the crime is the high cost
of body parts. That would be as ridiculous as
complaining about the high cost of Nazi lamp
shades that were made from human skin. The point
is where the body parts come from--murdered human
beings."
The sale of baby body parts was first
reported by Life Dynamics (http://www.ldi.org)
in their monthly one-hour television program
entitled "Life Talk". LifeSavers Ministries
receives LifeTalk on videotape every month. If
anyone expresses interest in meeting once a month
at the LifeHouse to watch this video, these
meetings will again be scheduled (they were
canceled last year because nobody was attending
them).
