Ministry news
Carlotta Fondren recently began volunteering at the Taft LifeHouse pregnancy help center. Carlotta has been involved in pro-life ministry for decades. In fact, she was one of the founders of LifeSavers Ministries in 1984!
Carlotta has been traveling to Taft on many Wednesdays. We are still looking for Taft volunteers to help cut down on our transportation expenses, and to enable us to help women more than one day per week. Please call 763-4791 if you can help.
Read more about how God motivated Carlotta to become involved in saving women and children from abortion (and founding LifeSavers Ministries)…

A few minutes after she arrived at the Taft LifeHouse pregnancy help center on a recent Wednesday, Terri Palmquist received a phone call. “I need to make an appointment,” the young woman at the other end of the line said.
“Are you calling from Taft?” Terri asked.
“Yes,” the caller (“Lena”) responded.
“We’re here right now,” Terri said, “so just come on in.”
“So you can do abortions in Taft?”

Terri and Lupita share God's love with Taft mother and baby
A baby shower for seven women was held on Sunday, December 26, in Bakersfield. One of the honored guests was a young woman from Taft whose baby was saved from abortion. The Taft woman (along with the other women for whom the shower was held) received many gifts at the shower, but she was still in need of a crib.
Someone attending the shower heard of her need and decided to give her a used crib (after first bringing it back to life with a fresh coat of paint). A couple attending the shower volunteered to deliver the crib to Taft. Praise God for those who are eager to help women and children in need!

A woman we’ll call “Sadie” came into the Taft LifeHouse pregnancy help center this morning. She told Terri that she already knew that she was pregnant and that she needed to abort her baby for “health reasons.”
But after she left, Terri reported that she had convinced herself that she couldn’t live with herself if she “chose” abortion!

Newborn Taft baby lies in bassinet provided by LifeSavers Ministries as a sibling admires her.
Ministering to pregnant women gives us opportunities to share in some of the deepest blessings and most difficult tragedies a family can experience. Recently we had the opportunity to minister to a needy Taft family which faced both of these situations at the same time.

A Taft woman I will call “Joselyn” (not her real name) came to us wanting an abortion this week, but the support of Taft church members who contributed to the recent baby battle fundraiser provided the resources necessary to help her change her heart this week!
When Joselyn told her friend that she wanted an abortion, her friend remembered seeing our banner outside our LifeHouse pregnancy help center at 28 Emmons Park Drive, adjacent to Taft College, so she brought her to our door. But we weren’t there! It was a Tuesday, and unfortunately we aren’t open on Tuesdays.
But even when we aren’t open, there is a phone right by the front door of the LifeHouse which enables women to contact us 24/7.
So Joselyn’s friend picked up the phone and pressed the button to call us.

Do you have a heart to help needy pregnant women, especially those who are considering abortion? Would you like to know that God used you to save a baby who would have been killed? We can use your help!
We will provide the training if you provide the time! If talking to a woman who is facing a crisis is more than you want to deal with, we can find other ways for you to help. We look forward to seeing the Taft community get behind this ministry so that God can use us to have a bigger impact on Taft, to His glory!
