“God saved my daughter” from the abortion pill!

Baby saved from the RU486/mifepristone abortion pill

Baby Emily, saved from the RU486/mifepristone abortion pill. Elisa attached this picture to her message "so you can witness this angel! Thank you from the very bottom of my heart!"

Early on a Sunday morning last September, we received an urgent message from Elisa, a mother in Newark NJ who had taken the RU486 (mifepristone) abortion pill but now wanted to save her baby.

We just received another message from Elisa informing us that “with all your blessings and prayers I proudly delivered my first baby girl after 7 boys Monday April 19.” Elisa went on to tell us that she named her baby Emily and she “is perfect in every way!”

When Elisa had first contacted us in September, we located Dr. Jean Golden-Tevald (with the help of Dr. George Delgado), who administered progesterone injections for two weeks and then provided Elisa with progesterone pills for the next 8-10 weeks. We also put Elisa in touch with Erin from El Paso, the mother of our first “abortion pill baby,” who provided Elisa with practical encouragement from her own experience. Read more »

Parking impasse may end as 40 Days for Life begins!

After hearing from concerned citizens at every City Council meeting for the past three months, it appears that the Bakersfield City Council may finally be willing to take action regarding the new parking restrictions at 25th and H Streets which were imposed at the request of the FPA abortion chamber staff to interfere with our ministry outreaches.

Council member Jacquie Sullivan

Councilmember Jacquie Sullivan

When Terri and Tim Palmquist shared their concerns at last night’s City Council meeting, Councilmember Jacquie Sullivan requested that the matter be submitted to a committee. During the discussion which ensued, Sullivan agreed to come back to the Council at the next meeting with a specific proposal narrowing the issue which is to be sent to a committee. The committee may be one of the existing Council committees, but at last night’s Council meeting the possibility of establishing a special ad hoc committee for the purpose of addressing this issue was presented. Text messaging becomes important ministry activity

On a recent Tuesday, Terri spent a long time in our Traveling Life Center (TLC) RV helping a young woman.  It seemed that she had decided not to abort her baby after Terri brought her to the Bakersfield Pregnancy Center to view her baby on an ultrasound screen, but her boyfriend convinced her to go back to the FPA abortion center.  After she entered FPA, Terri sent her the text message: "Sweetie… plz come out!  God loves u & ur baby."

Pregnant woman’s dream reveals God’s “still, small” voice

Ultrasound image of baby The night before she came to Bakersfield’s abortion center, "Fabienne," 38, had a vivid dream.  But when she woke up, she tried to forget the dream, determined to follow through with her abortion plans because she felt that her circumstances were too difficult.

Throughout her lifetime, Fabienne has been experiencing abuse at the hands of the men in her life.  Growing up in Mexico, she was subjected to an arranged marriage at the age of 18.  Soon her husband moved them to the United States, where she raised their three children, who are now teenagers.  After ten years of enduring her husband’s abuse, she left him.

Ministry extends to Jamaica!

Our Internet outreach gives us the opportunity to minister in faraway places we have never been, like Jamaica! We received the following message in early January from "Connie," who was looking at our page on how a pregnant teenager can break the news about pregnancy to her parents :

I found your website while searching for ways to tell my parents I’m pregnant. I’m going through a really rough time in my life now. I’m living in Jamaica and lost my job 3 months ago and I am yet to get another. I found out that I’m now pregnant and have absolutely no means of supporting this child….  Read more »

Testimony refutes the devil’s lies

If you were at the 40 Days for Life Midway Rally on March 15, you heard Maggie tell us how she was thankful for her five month old little boy, whom she had scheduled to abort last February during our first 40 Days for Life campaign.   Terri holds Maggie's baby at the Midway Rally as Maggie looks on She explained how Terri had given her a pair of blue baby booties and told her she was going to have a boy.  "I was amazed when I found out that he was really a boy," Maggie told the crowd.

I had met Maggie on the sidewalk outside the killing center a few days earlier.  When she and her friend approached me on the sidewalk, we had just been in the midst of a severe attack.  Read more »

First “TLC” baby saved!

The first life-saving encounter in the new TLC (Traveling Life Center)
The first life-saving encounter in the new TLC (Traveling Life Center) on February 24, 2009 (the day before the beginning of 40 Days for Life).

LifeSavers Ministries now has a new "Traveling Life Center " ("TLC") which will enable us to offer services more easily in outlying areas.   Although the TLC is not fully set up as a mobile pregnancy help center yet, God has already been using it to help save babies from abortion as it is stationed outside Bakersfield’s Family Planning Associates abortion center.   Many thanks to David and Grace Madruga of Grace Electric for the generous donation of their RV!

LifeSavers Ministries continues to need financial help for this project, to help cover the insurance, gas, signs and equipment, and hopefully eventually a portable ultrasound machine!
