St. Gianna’s Maternity Home has provided essential help for LifeSavers Ministries clients, providing a local place for us to send homeless pregnant women. Without this home being open, some of these babies would have undoubtedly been aborted, and their mothers would be experiencing a lifetime of regret. Most of the pregnant women who have been helped by St. Gianna’s have been referred from LifeSavers Ministries.
Now St. Gianna’s Maternity Home is experiencing a crisis. The ministry was already struggling for funds before the unexpected death last month of founder Amanda Fimbres-Baeza. But now the problems have intensified.
To help raise funds to keep the maternity home’s doors open, a 48 hour telethon will be held beginning on Friday, June 5 at 8 am and ending Sunday, June 7 at 8 am. The telethon will be located at the maternity home, 3811 Mt. Vernon Ave. in Bakersfield, featuring all day activities, with music, food, a live concert and a talent show.
