Planned Parenthood representative harasses prayer group

Planned Parenthood representatives threaten prayer group

The woman at left holding the camera said that she was the "health center manager" of Planned Parenthood.

As people prayed outside the Planned Parenthood center which is under construction at 2633 16th Street in Bakersfield, two women walked from the existing Planned Parenthood office down the street to take pictures of the prayer group.

Later one of the women, who said that she was the “health center manager,” threatened to call the police, claiming that the prayer group is not allowed to be on the grass. The police never arrived.

Born on the Fourth of July!

Baby saved from abortion born on July 4

This precious little girl, saved from abortion in Bakersfield, was born on July 4.

A few short months ago, the mother of the child pictured here was entering the Family Planning Associates abortion center in Bakersfield, intending to abort her baby. Someone on the sidewalk handed her a card from our AbortionPillBaby.com ministry, and a few weeks later she called asking for help.

New housing opportunities arise for local pregnant women

Terri Palmquist and Esther Boozer of LifeSavers Ministries welcome Lori and her children to the 'Hawaiian Gardens' home.

Many years ago, Terri Palmquist envisioned a new kind of housing ministry for needy pregnant women. Over the past few weeks, doors have begun to open to help bring that vision closer to reality.

While seeking housing arrangements for a client (“Lori,” whose baby was saved during 40 Days for Life), Terri learned that the property she had been hoping to use for housing pregnant women is now available. After working out some logistics with the property owner, Terri began informing some LifeSavers Ministries volunteers of the need. Arrangements were quickly made for property cleanup, repairs, and helping Lori move in. Terri has dubbed the facility “Hawaiian Gardens.” Lori moves in today!

“God saved my daughter” from the abortion pill!

Baby saved from the RU486/mifepristone abortion pill

Baby Emily, saved from the RU486/mifepristone abortion pill. Elisa attached this picture to her message "so you can witness this angel! Thank you from the very bottom of my heart!"

Early on a Sunday morning last September, we received an urgent message from Elisa, a mother in Newark NJ who had taken the RU486 (mifepristone) abortion pill but now wanted to save her baby.

We just received another message from Elisa informing us that “with all your blessings and prayers I proudly delivered my first baby girl after 7 boys Monday April 19.” Elisa went on to tell us that she named her baby Emily and she “is perfect in every way!”

When Elisa had first contacted us in September, we located Dr. Jean Golden-Tevald (with the help of Dr. George Delgado), who administered progesterone injections for two weeks and then provided Elisa with progesterone pills for the next 8-10 weeks. We also put Elisa in touch with Erin from El Paso, the mother of our first “abortion pill baby,” who provided Elisa with practical encouragement from her own experience. Read more »

St. Gianna’s Maternity Home in crisis

St. Gianna’s Maternity Home has provided essential help for LifeSavers Ministries clients, providing a local place for us to send homeless pregnant women. Without this home being open, some of these babies would have undoubtedly been aborted, and their mothers would be experiencing a lifetime of regret.  Most of the pregnant women who have been helped by St. Gianna’s have been referred from LifeSavers Ministries.

Now St. Gianna’s Maternity Home is experiencing a crisis. The ministry was already struggling for funds before the unexpected death last month of founder Amanda Fimbres-Baeza. But now the problems have intensified.

To help raise funds to keep the maternity home’s doors open, a 48 hour telethon will be held beginning on Friday, June 5 at 8 am and ending Sunday, June 7 at 8 am. The telethon will be located at the maternity home, 3811 Mt. Vernon Ave. in Bakersfield, featuring all day activities, with music, food, a live concert and a talent show.  For more information, call 872-BABY.

Baby’s premature death impacts many

A memorial service was held Friday, April 3, for Annaliz Angel Loza, who died inside her mother’s womb at 5 months gestation.  The baby’s 17-year-old parents, Jennifer and John, were courageous in choosing life for their baby in spite of the fact that Jennifer has lupus and several people insisted that she should abort the baby. First “TLC” baby saved!

The first life-saving encounter in the new TLC (Traveling Life Center)
The first life-saving encounter in the new TLC (Traveling Life Center) on February 24, 2009 (the day before the beginning of 40 Days for Life).

LifeSavers Ministries now has a new "Traveling Life Center " ("TLC") which will enable us to offer services more easily in outlying areas.   Although the TLC is not fully set up as a mobile pregnancy help center yet, God has already been using it to help save babies from abortion as it is stationed outside Bakersfield’s Family Planning Associates abortion center.   Many thanks to David and Grace Madruga of Grace Electric for the generous donation of their RV!

LifeSavers Ministries continues to need financial help for this project, to help cover the insurance, gas, signs and equipment, and hopefully eventually a portable ultrasound machine!

Your lotion can help heal hurting hearts

We are in need of small feminine items such as perfume or lotion and small gift bags.  We use these items for post-abortion gifts we offer to women leaving after abortions.  We also include helpful information such as a booklet entitled "The Story of  A Perfect Love" (which contains the Gospel of John), a pamphlet on healing after abortion and Gospel tracts.  We can use about 30 post-abortion gifts per week (because not all of the women accept the gifts we offer).
