A joyful celebration of the power of prayer was held Saturday at the home of David and Grace Madruga, as they celebrated the finalization of the adoption of their son Joseph Francis Madruga. Dozens of the Madrugas’ family members and friends shared in the festivities, including several 40 Days for Life leaders.

Vigil participants had encountered “Milagra,” the birth mother of Joseph Francis Madruga, on a busy abortion day during the first Bakersfield 40 Days for Life campaign in March 2008. Read more »

When “Jack” contacted us seeking a way to save his baby from a forced abortion, Terri put him in touch with our good friend, attorney Colette Wilson. Today we received this praise report from Colette:

Ultrasound image of baby saved by fax

I just had to share this! A few months back, I received a phone call from a young man in Kern County named “Jack,” whose girlfriend’s parents were forcing his girlfriend to have an abortion against her will. I sent a fax to the FPA abortion clinics in Bakersfield and Fresno. The clinic manager called me almost instantaneously and assured me that the young woman’s wishes would be respected. Without the clinic’s cooperation, the parents were thwarted in their plans, and the baby’s life was saved.
