Ministry extends to Jamaica!

Our Internet outreach gives us the opportunity to minister in faraway places we have never been, like Jamaica! We received the following message in early January from "Connie," who was looking at our page on how a pregnant teenager can break the news about pregnancy to her parents :

I found your website while searching for ways to tell my parents I’m pregnant. I’m going through a really rough time in my life now. I’m living in Jamaica and lost my job 3 months ago and I am yet to get another. I found out that I’m now pregnant and have absolutely no means of supporting this child….  I haven’t told my family yet because it’s a burden that they cannot bear at this time because they themselves have so many issues dealing with, ill-health, finances etc. I’m nervous about telling them only because I’m unmarried and still living with them. I have however found some useful tips on your site (THANK GOD) and I will see how that goes. I need a special prayer for deliverance from my troubles and if there is anyway that you could assist us even though we’re in Jamaica, it would be much appreciated.

It took us a while, but eventually we located a ministry in Jamaica which could help Connie.  Later we received the following message from Connie:

Hi Tim and Terri,

Thanks for having responded to my email and I know you have prayed for me because I managed to break the news of my pregnancy to my family and trusted God and they responded quite well to it. They are very supportive, giving me advice and constantly let me know everything will be okay. I still however need your prayers for our finances because it’s real expensive to get the proper care that I need for me and the baby. I did an ultrasound about a week ago and the baby was fine, however this morning I started having a little spotting which got me worried and I’ll have to see the Doctor again for an unscheduled visit, which caused me to again, borrow some money to cover that. I know God is still working things out for us though and I want to ask for your prayers while we pray for ourselves. Thanks for everything!

This morning we received the following update from Connie, who is now over halfway through her pregnancy:

Hi Tim & Terri,

Thank you so much for your continued prayers which I can still feel working. My parents and I are just great and they are looking forward to sharing their world with the baby. I found out it’s a girl and I’m very excited! I talk to her about God and His wonderful Love everyday and I read the bible to her every night before bed.

I’m doing ok with the pregnancy except now I have a sprained ankle that I’m resting and praying to be healed. Thank you so much for your prayers and showing God’s love.

Thank you for helping us to be there for young women like Connie.  Although we would love the opportunity to visit Jamaica, your financial assistance makes it possible for us to help women like her all the way from here in California!

Wow! God is amazing. He has truly expanded your borders. Your sphere of influence is increasing. Faithful in small things. You will receive greater things. Carry on!
