When "Orelia" discovered that she was pregnant, she went to Clinica Sierra Vista for a checkup, where she received sad news.  "Your baby is dead," she was told, and she was sent to the FPA abortion center to abort the "dead" baby.

When Orelia arrived at the abortion business with her husband and little girl, she saw a group of people outside praying as part of this fall’s 40 Days for Life campaign.  Some of the people who had been praying approached Orelia and started talking to her in Spanish.

After a few minutes, Terri approached Orelia, offering to show an abortion video on a handheld video player.  The Spanish-speaking prayer volunteers continued talking to Orelia about the evils of abortion, but Terri could tell that things were not going well.

"Try to find out why she wants an abortion," Terri suggested.

After further discussion, Orelia explained that she had been told that her baby was dead, but she was less than six weeks pregnant.

Terri responded, "it is common not to hear heart tones that early."

Terri called a local doctor and arranged for Orelia to be seen immediately.  One of the prayer supporters said "if it costs anything and it’s not covered, we’ll pay for it."

As the doctor performed an ultrasound, Orelia was thrilled to hear him say that her baby is developing fine.  "The baby is just the right size for this stage of pregnancy."

Over the years, various women have been referred to FPA for abortions by Clinica Sierra Vista, often being given bogus reasons for aborting the baby such as claiming that the baby is dead or that it is a tubal pregnancy.
