Abortion chamber guard fired for going to the LifeHouse

An off-duty security guard was fired last week because she sought help at the LifeHouse pregnancy help center. The guard was employed by Stanley Security, the security company under contract with the Family Planning Associates abortion chamber, which has strict (though often ignored) rules against guards talking to the pro-life Christians on the sidewalk. Another guard was removed from his post after less than two days a few weeks ago for being too friendly with the Christians. Stanley Security owner Chuck Thompson finished the guard's shift, breaking his own rules by talking to the pro-lifers, flaunting his atheist beliefs, boasting about aborting three of his children, and ridiculing LifeSavers leader Terri Palmquist for being pregnant again. The newest guard attends a local Catholic church; however, for various reasons, LifeSavers team members are advised not to give any information to the guards at this time.

Abortions were committed last Tuesday by Kenneth Wright, while the LifeHouse had one of its busiest weeks to date, putting the second video room which was recently added to good use. Four babies were saved! Here are a few selected reports from last week's ministry activities:

Suzanne came out on Tuesday for a few hours to pray on the sidewalks with her four children. As she started to leave, she noticed "Sandra," 20, and her teenage boyfriend "John", arriving to abort their baby. John and Sandra are both Charismatic Christians, attending a local Foursquare church, but they felt they had to abort their baby because they already have a two-year-old. Suzanne encouraged them to come to the LifeHouse first. At the LifeHouse, Terri showed them the "Harder Truth" abortion video. John said "I thought it was just a tiny dot, and the doctor removed it. I had no idea it looked like a baby." He was also shocked to see how rough the abortionist was in removing the baby. After seeing the video, they decided to let their baby live.

As "Bertina," 30, went upstairs to enter the abortion chamber, Patricia (a new volunteer from Bethany Ministries) tried to talk to her, but she didn't listen. "She looked confused and nervous, like she didn't want to do this," Patricia said. About 20 minutes later, Bertina came out and asked Patricia for some literature. Patricia offered to pray with her and give her a Bible, but Bertina said she already had one. She said she had intended to abort because she already has children. As Patricia talked to her, Bertina was trembling and shaking. "She looked like she wanted to cry," Patricia said. Bertina thanked Patricia for her help, and left.

After "Yancy," 19, brought his girlfriend into the abortion mill's waiting room on Tuesday, he came back downstairs, because Chuck had asked if he would talk to him for a few moments. Chuck offered him a little pro-life poem on a card to give to her. Yancy said "I'm against her having this done, but it's up to her," but he agreed to bring her the poem. About 45 minutes later, they both came out together from downstairs. She was crying, and Patricia asked "is there anything we can do for you?" She said "I changed my mind; I'm not going through with it." So Patricia gave her a Bible and a baby gift. As they left, Patricia told them "angels in heaven are rejoicing."

A young girl came to the killing center early Tuesday morning with her mother. Terri tried to talk to them as they entered, but they just walked in. As they walked across the balcony, they could see a large picture of an aborted baby which had been placed near the sidewalk below. A few minutes later, they came back downstairs. The girl told Jose (an independent volunteer) that she is keeping the baby. Her mother looked angry. As they drove away, Terri offered them a baby gift, but the mother just sped off, as her daughter wiped the tears from her eyes.

"Shontelle," 15, was brought to the LifeHouse for a pregnancy test by a case manager with a local adolescent assistance agency. Terri was busy counseling "John" and "Sandra," so Tim* was the only one available to assist with the p`regnancy test. (LifeHouse rules do not normally permit men to offer pregnancy tests to women; however, in this instance, an exception was made due to the presence of the female case manager.) Shontelle already has a one year old child. Her test was negative, so Tim counseled her to commit to abstinence. The case manager said she will recommend the LifeHouse to others at her agency.

Scripture Focus: Psalm 126:3-6

The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Meditate on this scripture today, as you sow precious seeds of life with tears, rejoicing in the great things God has done in our midst.

Prayer Focus
  • Ask God to help you to see each person (and each preborn child) you encounter today through His eyes.

  • Pray that God will comfort and protect "Bertina" (see report above) and that she will not surrender to Satan's attacks. (Also pray for the other people mentioned in the ministry reports.)

  • Ask God to put divine obstacles in the way of abortionist Kenneth Wright, so that he will be prevented from executing his usual "business."

Ohio woman dies after abortion

L'Echelle Renee Head, 21, was pronounced dead at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio on October 11, after her baby was aborted at the Dayton Women's Services abortion facility.

"The final results of the autopsy are still pending," explained Peggy Lehner, president of Dayton Right to Life. "From early indications it appears she suffered some sort of blood clot or embolism.... She entered the clinic as an apparent perfectly healthy woman, pregnant, frightened, probably, and had made the choice to have this procedure done. As a result of that choice, she is now dead."

Dayton Women's Services was granted a waiver this past summer by the Ohio Department of Health, allowing them to bypass normal license regulations requiring arrangements for special treatment of complications. "This woman very well may have been alive today if the Department of Health had done their work," Lehner said.

Group to picket 'Tolerance' museum

John Finn of Pro-Life America (www.prolife.com) is organizing a picket of Jews and other pro-lifers outside the Museum of Tolerance on Thursday, protesting the fact that the museum has not recognized or exposed the abortion holocaust.

The demonstration will be held on Thursday, October 26 outside the museum at 9786 W. Pico Blvd. in Los Angeles. Some signs will be provided, but participants may also bring their own signs.
