Cordless phone allows pro-life to talk inside abortion chamber

Last week was the first week of a three month
experiment regarding the tactics of sidewalk volunteers.
Most of the volunteers were unhappy that they couldn't
use signs, however, in spite of the difficulties, God did
touch the hearts of some women.  Here are a few
selected reports from last week's ministry activities:

"Vera" came to the abortion chamber for an
abortion on Tuesday.  Vera's friend "Matilda"
didn't want her to abort the baby, and she had called
LSM a few days earlier looking for information on
how she could help her friend.  While Vera was
inside the abortion chamber's waiting room, Matilda
went to the LifeHouse to try to find out what she
could do to help.  Matilda talked to Debbie, who
was on the phone talking to Terri.  Terri asked
Debbie to have Matilda bring LifeSavers' cordless
phone with her into the abortion chamber's waiting
room so that Terri could talk to Vera.  Matilda
agreed, bringing the phone inside the abortion
chamber waiting room.  On the phone, Terri asked
Vera to please let her baby live, and told her that she
would help.  Vera began to cry, and gave the phone
back to Matilda.  Matilda needed to leave to go to
work, so she brought the phone back down to
Debbie.  Debbie also needed to leave, and there
were no other volunteers remaining on the
sidewalks, so nobody saw whether or not Vera left.

"Tina," 31, came to the LifeHouse on Friday with
her fiance for a pregnancy test.  She attends a local
Pentecostal church.  Her test results were positive,
and she said she will need a lot of help during her
pregnancy, because her fiance will be going to jail
this week for 36 months.  Terri gave Tina a "Hope
for the Future" Bible along with other literature.

"Olive," 33, came to the LifeHouse on Tuesday for
a pregnancy test, after seeing a LifeSavers
phonebook ad.  She is single, and attends a local
Catholic church.  Her test was positive, but she was
very happy about it, and she told Carolyn that she
will return if she needs anything.

Carlotta told Terri that there were two
"turnarounds" (women who had scheduled an
abortion who decided instead to keep their babies).
     However, no details were available.

"Kelsey" saw the LifeSavers ad in a phone book,
and called Thursday for information on abortion.
She is here on a temporary tourist visa from Japan,
and she must leave the country by June.  She is
pregnant from her American boyfriend, so her
parents have disowned her.  Terri is keeping in
contact with Kelsey to help her with her needs.

Scripture Focus: Revelation2:1b-7

These are the words of him who holds the seven stars
in his right hand and walks among the seven golden
lampstands: I know your deeds, your hard work and your
perseverance.  I know that you cannot tolerate wicked
men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles
but are not, and have found them false.  You have
persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and
have not grown weary.
Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your
first love.  Remember the height from which you have
fallen!  Repent and do the things you did at first.  If you
do not repent, I will come to you and remove your
lampstand from its place....
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says
to the churches.  To him who overcomes, I will give the
right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of
God.
[heart] When you are tempted to engage in idle
conversation today, meditate on this scripture.

Prayer Focus

Ask God to guide the actions of every
volunteer today.  Pray that God will guide all of
the volunteers to cooperate in their efforts so
that the ministry will be unified in spirit.
Pray for "Kelsey," (see report above), asking
God to bring about circumstances which allow
her to stay in the United States so that she
may keep her baby.
Ask God to motivate many Christians, as well
as pregnant women who may be considering
abortion, to attend the "Empty Cradle" memorial
service at Calvary Bible Church at 7 pm on Friday
night.   Pray that the Holy Spirit will guide all of
the preparations for the service, and that many
hearts will be touched by Him, and motivated to
act on an ongoing basis in obedience to His call
to save lives.
